Airtel, one of India’s top telecom providers, faced a major outage on December 26, disrupting connectivity for thousands of users across the country. The issue impacted mobile internet, signal reception, and overall network connectivity, leading to widespread frustration among customers.According to Downdetector, a platform that tracks service disruptions, over 3,000 complaints were registered. Among these, 47% of users reported mobile internet issues, 30% experienced a complete blackout, and 23% struggled with signal reception.

Airtel Network Outage in Gujarat

The outage hit Gujarat particularly hard, with many users reporting a total loss of service. Social media platforms were flooded with complaints from frustrated customers. One user from Ahmedabad shared, “No one in my office with an Airtel SIM has any network. Is Airtel down for you as well?” Another wrote, “Airtel broadband and mobile services are completely down in Gujarat. No signals, no internet—everything is offline!”

A third user asked, “Is Airtel down in Ahmedabad? No one is getting network.” Another commented, “Airtel broadband and mobile services are completely down—no network on mobile or broadband. Everything is offline in Gujarat right now!”

A user noted that outages began to escalate after 11 AM, prompting many customers to voice their concerns on X (formerly Twitter). One described the situation as a “total blackout,” while another criticized the lack of transparency, saying, “Airtel must provide an explanation and resolve this issue promptly.”

Further aggravating the situation, Airtel has not yet issued an official statement explaining the cause of the outage or providing a timeline for restoring services. This lack of communication has left many customers calling for greater transparency and a quicker resolution.

A social media post indicated that the company aims to resolve the issue by 2:20 PM, though this has not been officially confirmed. Affected users are encouraged to check Airtel’s social media channels for updates on service restoration.
