The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled India’s 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, with veteran opener Rohit Sharma returning as captain for another 50-over ICC tournament. Shubman Gill has been named as the vice-captain.

The tournament, making a comeback after an eight-year hiatus, will be played in a hybrid format. India’s matches are scheduled to take place in Dubai, while the rest of the tournament will be hosted across three venues in Pakistan. The Men in Blue will kick off their campaign on February 20 against Bangladesh, followed by key group-stage encounters against Pakistan and New Zealand in the eight-team event.

Champions Trophy History and India’s Performance

India and Pakistan last faced off in a Champions Trophy final in 2017 at The Oval, where India suffered a heavy defeat. However, the team has previously tasted success in the competition, having lifted the trophy in 2013 under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. In 2002, India and Sri Lanka were declared joint winners after the final was washed out.
