Bluesky has introduced a “Trending Topics” feature in beta, allowing users worldwide to explore trending discussions on both its mobile app and desktop version. Announced on Wednesday, December 25, the decentralized social media platform noted that the feature is currently available only in English.

On desktop, trending topics appear in the right sidebar, while mobile users can access the feature by tapping the search icon. Bluesky also provides the option to disable trending topics by navigating to Settings > Content and Media and unchecking the “Enable trending topics” option. Additionally, any words or phrases muted by users will not be displayed in the trending section.

“This is version 1, and we will refine it based on your feedback,” said the startup founded by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey in a post.

Last week, Bluesky surpassed 25 million total users following a significant surge in sign-ups after Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential elections. As part of its 1.96 update, the platform introduced a dedicated mentions tab, allowing users to view replies or conversations they have been tagged in.
