Mark Zuckerberg recently revealed that he received death threats in Pakistan during a legal battle involving a post on Facebook. In an interview with Joe Rogan, the Meta CEO explained that the threat came after someone shared a drawing of Prophet Mohammed on the platform. This led to accusations of blasphemy, with some trying to have him sentenced to death in Pakistan. He described how this situation made him concerned about his safety, particularly when flying over the region.

Zuckerberg also discussed how various laws around the world can conflict with free speech, putting pressure on global platforms to regulate content more strictly. He emphasized that certain countries have different values that clash with freedom of expression, sometimes calling for more content restrictions than he believes are necessary. He noted the significant influence governments can have in these cases, warning that U.S. tech companies might need government support to navigate such challenges abroad.

Additionally, Zuckerberg shared that Meta recently replaced its fact-checking systems on Facebook and Instagram with a “community notes” model, similar to Elon Musk’s X. He criticized the previous system, saying it led to “too many mistakes” and “too much censorship,” and claimed it was “too politically biased.”
