Located in Prabhas Patan near Veraval on Gujarat’s western coast, the Somnath Temple is believed to be the first of the twelve jyotirlinga shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is an important pilgrimage site for people from around the world. An inscription in Sanskrit on one of the temple towers suggests that one can travel to the South Pole unobstructed by following a straight path from the tower’s southern direction.
Earlier, Mukesh Ambani celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Jamnagar refinery, where notable figures like Shah Rukh Khan and Amit Shah were present. Ambani highlighted Jamnagar as home to the world’s largest oil refinery, the biggest gigafactory, the largest solar energy plant, and the fourth-largest artificial intelligence infrastructure, along with a planned digital factory.
Before visiting the Somnath Temple, Ambani had also visited the Dwarkadhish Temple in Gujarat, where they were seen entering and exiting the temple amid tight security. The Ambani family often visits this temple, and their recent trip to Somnath adds to their spiritual journey.
