WhatsApp introduces built-in document scanner: Here’s how to use it
WhatsApp, the Meta-owned messaging app used by over two billion people worldwide, is constantly introducing new features. While the app offers numerous functionalities, users often relied on third-party apps for document scanning and sharing.
Now, with a recent update, WhatsApp is rolling out a built-in document scanner for iPhone users, allowing them to scan and share documents directly within the app. This new feature eliminates the need to open third-party apps, save documents, and then share them as attachments.
How to Scan Documents on WhatsApp
To scan documents on WhatsApp using an iPhone, open the app, tap the “Plus” button at the bottom, and select “Documents.” You will see three options: “Choose from files,” “Choose photo or video,” and “Scan document.”
Select “Scan document” to open the in-app camera. Position your document in the viewfinder and tap the shutter button to scan it. Once scanned, you can share the document with anyone in your contact list.
WhatsApp has announced that the feature is being gradually rolled out, so it may take some time for it to appear on your device. Additionally, it is unclear whether or when this feature will be available on Android devices, leaving users to rely on third-party apps for now.
